The PTA is so much more than fundraising for school events, classroom supplies, and teacher appreciation. We provide monthly events with presenters from community agencies about health services, safety practices, and basic family needs which support the child. We are working to provide a sense of community and family involvement within the school. When you are involved, your child is involved and feels pride, ownership, participation, and community in his or her school. It is our goal to enhance the educational experience at Dahl School in any way we can. We thank you for being involved and helping to make all of this possible.
If you have any questions or would like more information about the PTA, send an email to: [email protected]
Dahl School's Weekly Cafecitos
Dahl School hosts weekly parent meetings every Thursday at 8:15am in Room P3. The Community Assistant will plan topics for discussion which may include guest speakers, plan parent workshops, or provide opportunities for volunteer days. On the first Thursday of the month the Principal will make time to meet with parents for a perfect opportunity to share school updates. Engage with us! We want to hear from you.
Dahl School's Site Council
The School Site Council is a decision-making body made up of parents, community representatives, and school staff members. The School Site Council's primary responsibility is to oversee the funds the school receives under the School Improvement Program (SIP) act. The funds are designed to improve student performance as measured by standardized tests, the District's State & Federal Program, and classroom performance. The Council meets four times in a year on a Tuesday from 4:00 to 5:30pm. To become a part of the School Site Council, submit an application to the front office.

Dahl School's Volunteer Program
Helping in the classroom or around the school is a great way to stay involved and support our Dahl School community. To volunteer in the classroom, please contact your student's teacher so a schedule can be arranged. The teacher will need to add your name in the volunteer log so your visit will be expected by the front office. To volunteer around the school, please contact the front office. Here are just a few ideas of the kind of roles we need on a regular basis:
Participate in the “Los Dichos” character education program reading a book to a class
Work with a child or small group during reading or math
Assist with Traffic Control before or after school
Teach a supervised after school class in art, music, dance, etc.
Be a Field Trip Chaperone (Check with your child's teacher for more information)
Assist with planning and organizing school events
