Welcome Back to School

Hello Dahl Families,

We hope your family had a nice summer and welcome you back to Dahl for the 2022-2023 school year. We can’t wait to see our Dahl Pandas back on the first day of school, which is on Monday, August 15th. The first week of school from August 15th - 19th will be minimum days. With COVID regulations of students wearing masks indoors, Dahl staff will be focusing on supporting the health, safety, and social-emotional well-being of all students and staff on campus. Below is additional information to help your family prepare for the start of the new school year.

CLASSROOM ASSIGNMENTS & COMMUNITY OUTDOOR FAIR: Classroom assignments for 22-23 will be available on Friday, August 12th. starting from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. on the windows of the Dahl front office. There will also be a resource fair outside of Dahl during those hours. We will also have tables with school resources and much more.

Dahl Resource Fair - August 12th in the afternoon outside of Dahl for information on Dahl FRC, CORAL, and so much more. More information will be sent out in August.
Classroom Assignments - Will also be posted on August 13th during our Resource Fair.
First Day of School - Monday, August 15th: Please note that the entire first week of school will be minimum days.
School Year Calendar - Please see the attached calendar for our 22-23 school year calendar.
Back to School Nights - TK - 2nd will have Back to School Night on Tuesday, August 23rd from 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. and 3rd - 6th grade Back to School Night on Thursday, August 25th from 5:00 - 6:30 p.m.

FMSD has a new Recommended Common Dress Code. All students are requested to dress in the following manner:

Shirts in black, gray or white.
Pants, shorts, skirts in black, gray, white or denim.
Dahl t-shirts or sweatshirts.
Jackets, sweaters / sweatshirts: white, black or gray

If you have any questions in the meantime, please feel free to send me a message on Parent Square. Our school front office will re-open on Monday, August 1st at 8:00 a.m.

Franklin-McKinley School District is requesting that all parents and/or guardians of each student complete the Educational Benefit Form before September 21, 2022.

Only 1 per household is required. You can also complete the Education Benefit form online on the Franklin-McKinley School District website at:

If you could please take the time to complete the form online. It would be greatly appreciated. The information provided will be kept confidential and it will not be shared with any outside agencies.

This income information will strictly be used by the district to apply for services, grants, programs and/or special funding that is offered by several Local, State and Federal programs. These grants and services will benefit your student and their school. Our district is proud of its diversity and ability to assist and serve the students with a variety of programs and services. The following is an example of items or services the funds will pay for:

• Special Ed Program • Professional Development • Computers, Laptops,

Hot Spot devices

• Books and Classroom Supplies
