5th Grade

5^th Grade is working on building academic vocabulary in all subject areas and use the Academic Vocabulary Toolkit (AVT) for English Language Development. In math we are building our place value understanding with decimals before studying two modules on fractions. For science we study Earth’s Systems and Earth’s natural resources. In social studies study U.S. History from native groups and European explorers through the U.S. Constitution. Finally we are staying active by playing soccer, basketball, and kickball. We are also preparing ourselves for the Physical Fitness test in the spring.
